Hi! I am Divya Ravi...
I am a Product and UX designer with a Master of Interaction Design and Electronic Arts from the University of Sydney.
I am also an accredited architect with a Bachelor in Architecture from India.
I have been interested in using some of the design skills I accumulated through my undergraduate course to explore UI/UX design for IT systems. To broaden my UX knowledge, I worked on 7 Google courses, part of the Google UX Design Professional Certificate on Coursera.
This website is my attempt to understand HTML and Bootstrap and explore my fascination with UI/UX. My exposure to the fundamentals of IT system design and development includes programming in Java, JavaScript, and knowledge of Object-Oriented Design.
During my work as an architect, I have worked on sustainability, interior design, graphic design, and parametric architecture.
Skills
Throughout my educational journey, I have honed proficiency in a variety of essential software tools and programming languages ensuring adeptness in design, data analysis, user research, user experience and interphase design.
Education
Over the course of my educational journey, I have been exposed to design and computer programming through various courses I completed during my secondary, higher secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Prior Education
Master of Interaction Design and Electronic Arts
2023 - 2024
University Of Sydney, Sydney, Australia
The course provided an introduction to the principles of human-centered design for products and services, emphasizing interactive technologies and experiences. We learnt to develop a creative and critical mindset while engaging in research-driven interaction design and user experience methodologies.
Bachelor of Architecture
2017 - 2022
RV College of Architecture, Visvesvaraya Technological University
Through my 5 years of coursework, I learned several architectural design principles. Listing some of the core areas:
- Study of form and abstration.
- Context study and mapping.
- Aesthetic and Building skin.
- Climate responsive architecture.
- Urban Design and Landscape architecture.
- Professional practice.
Higher Secondary Education
2015 - 2017
Central Board of Secondary Education, Vidyaniketan School, Bangalore
During my Higher secondary education, I chose Computer Science in addition to the core fundamental subjects of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. I learned the basic principles of Object-oriented design through C++ programming language. I passed scoring A2 grade, the highest in my school in Computer Science.
Secondary Education
2008 - 2015
Rishi Valley School - KFI, Chitoor
I was fortunate to have spent 7 years of schooling at the Rishi Valley School - Krishnamurti Foundation, India. The principles of the school are based on the vision of the famous philosopher J. Krishnamurti. As art forms an integral part of the curriculum, I had the opportunity to paint, sculpt, and learn the techniques of dyeing, printing weaving, and embroidery.
Miscellaneous
W O R K S H O P S :
Kochi by foot: A workshop exploring the essense of the historical town, Kochi and documenting experientially
Architecture Design Thinking: A workshop exploring design thinking and prototyping using physical models and digital tools
P R O J E C T S:
Worked on a project with FH Münster University, Germany based on Climate responsive architecture.
The project involved reseearching climate responsive buildings in India and creating a detailed report for their website.
Additionally, I attended E-learning lectures as a part of the project.
P A R A M E T R I C E X P L O R A T I O N:
During my 5th Semester, I chose an elective that enabled us to explore multiple softwares that facilitated the design of parametric buildings.
Parametric buildings are buidings with shapes and forms that have a curving nature and are composed of mulitple modules.
